Here we have our JRP IAT sensors, also known as Intake Air Temperature sensors, these are also sometimes referred to as a MAT Manifold air temperature sensors. The purpose of these sensors are to be installed after a turbo or supercharged vehicles intercooler to check the temperatures of air that is entering the engine. Being the both turbos and superchargers heat up the air they are compressing, it’s important to know what the temps are that are coming out after your intercooler, and almost all aftermarket ECU’s will use these sensors. So just like our other range of sensors which we sell for use on aftermarket ECU’s, these IAT sensors are just another offering we have to compliment our range of quality sensors customers can use with their projects.
The sensors have a 3/8 NPT thread, an operating range of -40c to 150c, the induction point has an epoxy tip for faster response and a melting point of 250c, these specs are perfect for almost every application. Each sensor comes with a 2.5M wiring loom as well.
These IAT sensors also share the same resistance calibration table as the GM IAT sensors, which makes for easier setup an installation of most decent aftermarket ECU’s, as most will have a pre-defined selection for the type of IAT sensor and you should be able to simply select it from a dropdown. Any questions about the calibration of the sensors with your ECU give us a yell, and we have uploaded an image on this page with the calibration table for the sensors for your reference.
These sensors can also be used as replacements or alternatives to the models below.
