The JRP Edge 52mm Pyrometer Gauge Kit is a standout addition to our Fahrenheit range, and we’re proud of its development. After nearly a year of refining the panel design and firmware, we believe this gauge is one of the best digital pyrometer gauges available today. With years of experience serving the USA and Canada through our 14-in-1 gauges—capable of displaying both Celsius and Fahrenheit—we received numerous requests to expand the Edge range for the Fahrenheit market. We are excited to finally introduce this dedicated Fahrenheit model.

One of the first things you’ll notice about this gauge is its thoughtfully designed display, engineered for precision and ease of readability. The outer scale is compressed for lower temperatures, while the critical range from 500°F to 1400°F is displayed in 25°F increments. This makes it easy to monitor important temperature changes quickly, even under demanding conditions. The design, initially developed for our Boost + Pyrometer gauge, ensures that this Pyrometer-only version offers the same level of clarity and precision.

Key Features:

  1. Precise Pyrometer Temperature Monitoring (in Fahrenheit): The gauge provides highly accurate readings, focusing on critical temperature ranges with clear 25°F increments from 500°F to 1400°F. This allows for precise monitoring where it matters most for your engine’s performance.

  2. Advanced CPW (Colour Pre-Warn) Technology: The CPW system offers a fully customizable color-coded warning system. As you approach your pre-set temperature limits, the gauge changes color to provide a clear visual alert before reaching critical levels, helping prevent engine damage.

  3. Dual Functionality – Pyrometer & Volts Gauge: In addition to monitoring exhaust gas temperatures, the gauge doubles as a volts gauge. It allows you to track your vehicle’s primary voltage level on the numeric display and includes a low-voltage warning system. If a low voltage condition occurs, the gauge will automatically switch from pyrometer readings to alert you with an audible alarm and visual warning.

  4. High-Quality Sensors: As with all JRP products, this pyrometer gauge is equipped with top-quality sensors, offering two excellent options to suit your needs. These sensors ensure real-time accuracy and reliability, even under extreme conditions.

Over the years, we’ve built a loyal customer base in the USA and Canada, starting with our multi-gauges, and we’re thrilled to expand this commitment with the Fahrenheit-specific Edge 52mm range. These gauges are not simply rebranded Celsius models; they’ve been thoughtfully engineered with Fahrenheit in mind to ensure they meet the needs of our northern hemisphere customers.

Explore our other offerings in Fahrenheit, such as the Edge 3-in-1 Gauge with water temperature, oil pressure, and low coolant monitoring. With fast shipping to the USA and Canada through DHL, most customers receive their gauges within days. Combine that with competitive pricing and the outstanding quality of everything JRP produces, and you have a winning combination that offers unmatched value and performance.

2x Pyro / EGT Sensor Options

At JRP, we've always focused on serving the turbo diesel 4x4 market, even before the launch of our multi-gauge v2 systems in 2018. Our priority has been to provide the best possible Pyrometer sensors for this market without demanding a premium price. During the development of our v2 multi-gauges, we invested in improving the Pyrometer sensors that we had been supplying, resulting in the creation of what we call the JRP EGT v2 pyrometer sensors. These sensors have been used successfully in thousands of customer vehicles and have received widespread praise. However, at JRP, we continually seek ways to improve our products. While our EGT v2 sensors are already excellent, we knew that by investing a bit more in materials and development, we could offer an even better pyrometer sensor at a slightly higher price.

Instead of discontinuing our EGT v2 pyro sensors and exclusively offering the new v3 sensors—potentially making our products less accessible to some customers—we decided to keep the v2 sensors as the standard option with all of our gauge kits. We also give customers the option to upgrade to the JRP EGT v3 pyrometer sensors if they desire, and their budget allows. This approach ensures everyone has access to a quality sensor, whether they choose the well-established v2 or opt for the new v3 version. When ordering any of our gauge kits that include pyrometer monitoring, you can choose between the reliable v2 sensors or upgrade to the advanced v3 sensors for a small additional cost. We've provided comparison photos on our website, so you can see the differences between the two sensors for yourself.

JRP EGT v3 probe 4mm iconV2 EGT PYRO SENSOR - 1/8 NPT

Our JRP EGT v2 pyrometer sensors, developed before the launch of the v2 multi-gauge in 2018, are robust and reliable, offering excellent performance for most diesel enthusiasts. These sensors have been widely praised and are a key reason why our gauges are so popular among diesel drivers. The v2 sensors are the standard option with our Pyrometer gauge kits, available at no additional cost. Made from high-quality 3030 stainless steel with a 3mm probe thickness, these sensors feature shielded induction points to prevent interference from external grounds, ensuring accurate readings.

We use multi-core wire instead of the single-core wire commonly found in pyrometer products within our price range. Multi-core wire provides superior durability and resistance to vibration, a leading cause of sensor failure. The v2 sensors are also equipped with Deutsch plugs for easy connection and feature heat-shielded wiring. If you typically do not push your pyrometer sensors to their limits, the standard v2 sensors remain an excellent choice. However, for those who put their sensors to the test—whether by installing them pre-turbo or running a high-performance naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine with very high exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs)—consider upgrading to our v3 sensors, which offer even better performance.

JRP EGT v3 probe 4mm iconV3 EGT PYRO SENSOR - 1/8 NPT

With years of experience and thousands of vehicles running our pyrometer sensors, we've collected valuable data on what makes a great sensor. Using this knowledge, we developed the JRP EGT v3 pyrometer sensors. These sensors retain all the key features of our v2 pyro sensors but have been upgraded in several critical areas. For example, the wiring has been improved to handle excessive vibration more effectively. We continue to use high-quality multi-core wire and ensure perfect crimping for maximum durability. The induction points inside the probe are shielded to prevent any interference from external grounds.

The probe body is constructed from 2520 stainless steel—a material selected by our engineers after thorough evaluation. The probe shaft's thickness has been increased to 4mm, with added thickness around the induction point to enhance durability and longevity. The probe design has been refined to taper from the top to the tip, improving response rates. While our v2 sensors were already responsive, the v3 sensors deliver even faster response times, reacting quickly to changes in exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) during rapid throttle adjustments or deceleration. Feedback from our workshops and dyno tuning customers, who beta-tested the v3 sensors, indicated a noticeable improvement in response rates, with the v3 sensors providing faster & more precise readings.

Choosing Between the v2 and v3 EGT Pyrometer Sensors

With this information, you can confidently choose between two outstanding pyrometer sensors. If you’re on a budget, the v2 sensors are a reliable and affordable option. However, if you frequently push your pyro sensors to their limits or want the fastest and most accurate readings, upgrading to the JRP EGT v3 sensor is highly recommended. The v3 sensors are ideal for customers running NA performance vehicles that frequently reach 1470-1740°F temperatures, or for diesel drivers who often push their pyrometer sensors hard with a lot of vibration, offroad use or want to install them pre-turbo. Even if you don’t fit into these specific categories, upgrading to the v3 sensors is a wise choice if your budget allows, as it provides the best possible pyrometer setup for your gauge kit.

Colour Pre-Warn FeatureCOLOUR PRE-WARN

At JRP we are always trying to innovate, and with our deeper than most understanding of the intended use for a gauge and it’s practical function, we always ask ourselves in the development stages how can we make this better. It’s really the heart and soul of what we do here.

So when looking at our 52mm temperature based gauges, we asked ourselves once again how can we make these better for our customers, expand their practical functionality in ways that are actually useful. With the gauges using an incredible 10-colour LCD panel, our engineer put his thinking cap on and came up with a function we call Colour Pre-Warn or CPW for short. Typically gauges will come with one warning you can set and that is it, you would set the warning to go off at a level that is either right on the limit, or because you only have the one warning, you end up being conservative with it and set it lower because you would prefer being warned before it gets to out of control. This normally leads to having alarms going off all the time because you are cautious, or you end up getting sick of being cautious and set alarms a little too aggressively and end up letting a high temp situation get out of control and engine damage happens. We have all been there one way or another.

With the JRP Edge v1.5 temperature gauges, you now have a two stage warning system, one which works the same as other gauges where you set a final value for a warning that will trigger an alarm on the gauge, but now there is a softer secondary warning system you can choose to enable which will pre-alert you that the gauges are reaching higher levels than normal and alert you using the gauges bright colours.

So for example, you have chosen to run blue as your desired running colour for the gauge, set yourself a warning at 1500 Fahrenheit for EGT’s, if you enable the “colour pre-warn” function, once the gauge reaches 1380 °F it will change from blue to yellow, and once it hits 1421 °F it will change from yellow to orange, and once you hit 1461 °F it will change from orange to red, and finally once you reach that 1500 °F the gauge will sound an alarm.

CPW Function Example

The idea behind this is you get a visual non invasive indication that the temp gauge is moving out of normal operating parameters, this allows for a more aggressive final audible warning to be set, along with being visually alerted that your temps are starting to move into high territory’s without nasty loud alarms going off. You will be pre-warned by the gauge changing colour that things aren’t quite right and gives a larger margin for error in catching an event well before it happens.

Now just like everything we do here, we have put a decent amount of thought in how this little function was implemented and could be setup. You are able to customize the colours in the pre-warn function, you can select any 3 colours that you aren’t using as a running colour for the gauge for the warning system. You can also set how sensitive the colour pre-warn is in relation to your primary audible warning you set, we have really tried to make it so setup of this feature is simple, yet it can be customized to suit almost all applications.

We have a video demonstration of the feature in action on this page, just click the Videos tab at the top and you can check it out and see how it works. We feel this feature while sounding simple enough is actually going to become something that a lot of our customers will come to love, no more gauges alarms going off prematurely, no one likes premature alarms, less anxiety around looking at the gauges more than you need to making sure everything is ok and your ears aren’t about to get a pounding, we feel it will be one of those features that on paper you think that’s cool but almost a bit gimmicky, to using it and finding out that it’s been one of the best little innovations you have found in a gauge for years.

High spec lcd panelsAMAZING LCD DISPLAYS

The crown jewel of the Edge 52mm digital EGT gauge is their amazing VA type LCD panels that were developed just for these gauges. As soon as you see them light up you will know right away these are not your typical LCD gauge, they have an amazing clarity & brightness to them.

The LCD panels used in the JRP Edge range of gauges took over a year in development process, they are a high end VA type panel which allows for superior viewing angles and brightness, the first thing you will notice about the JRP Edge gauges is how they can be viewed quite clearly on both on & off angle viewing, one of the shortfalls of LCD is as you view them off angle their brightness and clarity reduce, the JRP Edge have some of the best off angle viewing of any LCD gauge on the market today.

They have a brightness of 600nit which is also terrific, daytime viewing on some LCD gauges can be a little poor due to lack of brightness, this is not the case with the Edge range of gauges, and they are clear and easy to read in almost any condition. Also having such a large number of selectable display colours means it will be much easier to match factory instrument clusters for those customers who want to maintain a consistent look in their cabin.

Info on the JRP Edge 52mm gauges modern designHigh End Build Quality

The Edge range of gauges have a robust design, the body of the gauges are a tough light weight alloy finished in a polished black look which gives them a nice contemporary look which will suit almost any application. Most customers buying these gauges are for off-roading in their Diesel 4x4’s, they need to be tough. These gauges also use a thick single piece scratch proof tempered glass panel in front of the LCD screen which slightly protrudes from the gauge itself for an awesome look that just screams quality. There is nothing worse than gauges that just look cheap, and the last thing the Edge range does is look cheap, they have a modern look which is also supported by quality housing and glass which just gives them that overall feel and look of quality.

Install requires only one single power link cableSINGLE POWER INSTALL

All of our Edge 52mm digital EGT gauges have the Power Link feature and cable included, this is a simple way to provide power to more than one gauge with just a single link cable running from the primary gauge to any additional gauges. This is to save having to run multiple power looms for each gauge you have installed and reduced the soldering / crimping of power looms down to just the primary gauge itself. For any additional gauges you want to install, it is just a case of running a power link cable from one gauge to the next. It is a pretty simple concept, but definitely makes installing 3 or 4 gauges a much quicker and neater process having the feature be on the gauges.

Gauges can be controlled with supplied external remote buttonREMOTE CONTROL

While the gauges themselves have a single button on the gauge body itself which is used for making changes to the gauges settings, such as colour selection, warning values, viewing or clearing peak values, each Edge 52mm EGT gauge comes with an external cabled button controller which can be installed somewhere tucked away in the cabin for making changes to the gauges settings after installation without having to remove the gauge from its housing to make the changes. Just simply connect our little button controller to the gauge and install somewhere easy to access, be it hidden away, or you can install it into your dash for the race look. Most diesel 4wd guys will go for the pillar mount install, so this feature will be really handy as removal of the gauges to change the settings isn’t so simple. Updating the gauges warning settings, changing colours, viewing or resetting peak values will no longer be a hassle at all.

Gauges can have warnings set, and peak value recordingWARNINGS & PEAK VALUES

All the Edge range of 52mm gauges have the ability to setup user definable warnings on the gauges, it’s an important part of any decent gauge solution for users to be able to configure their own warning values, and the Edge 52mm digital EGT gauges have this covered. Keeping an eye on EGT readings with any turbo diesel vehicle, be it off-road or on-road towing is hugely important, as is being alerted when temps exceed normal operating parameters. So just simply setup a temperature warning that if ever exceeded the gauges built in buzzer that will alert you a warning has been triggered and you will never miss a running hot condition ever again. It’s also possible with this model to setup a warning for volts as well, as these gauges not only monitor EGT’s but also volts as well. And last but not least, another feature some customers also may find useful is, these gauges are able to record peak temperatures, this will enable you to review after a drive what were the highest temps seen by the gauge at any one time. You can easily clear the peak recording before a drive to clear the last drives peak temps that were recorded.
