We are proud to introduce the JRP Edge 52mm Digital Water Temp + Low Coolant Gauge Kit. This gauge bears the 3in1 logo because it is actually the same model as our Water Temp + Oil Pressure + Low Coolant gauge but without the oil pressure sensor. This design allows you to easily add an oil pressure sensor later if needed. Recognizing that many customers value the essential monitoring of water temperature but also appreciate the added benefit of low coolant detection, we developed this dual gauge as a more affordable option, catering to those who may not require all the functions of our other 3-in-1 offerings.

There are a lot of benefits to monitoring for low coolant along with water temps, doesn’t matter if it’s petrol or diesel, a low coolant condition can really go undetected until it’s too late. With our latest 52mm water temp gauge with an engine low coolant alarm built in, you can rest assured that our gauges are going to cover both bases for you. This combination of functions in a single 52mm gauge is industry leading, just engine low coolant alarm systems themselves can cost upwards of $200, yet we have managed to build the systems into our 52mm gauges with minimal cost over a standard water temp gauge, big win for our customers.

Key Features

  1. Water Temperature Monitoring with CPW Technology: The gauge features our popular Colour Pre-Warn (CPW) system, which provides color-coded alerts as water temperatures begin to rise, giving you early warning before reaching critical levels. This feature allows you to address potential overheating issues proactively, ensuring better engine protection.

  2. Low Coolant Detection & Alarm: This gauge is equipped with an advanced low coolant sensor, providing instant alerts if there is any drop in coolant levels. Whether off-roading in a diesel vehicle where a stray rock could damage the radiator, or racing a petrol engine around the track where a hose might disconnect, this feature helps prevent severe engine damage from overheating by alerting you to coolant loss as soon as it occurs.

Flexible and Cost-Effective

Designed to offer flexibility, the JRP Edge 52mm Water Temp + Low Coolant Gauge allows customers to add additional sensors, like the oil pressure sensor, at a later stage. This approach provides options without forcing unnecessary expenses on functions that may not be required for certain applications.

At JRP, we constantly seek to advance the technology in our gauges, and this addition to the Edge range is no exception. Our water temp gauge is actually our No.1 selling gauge, but we wanted to take it a step further by adding more features to a simple gauge. First, we introduced the CPW function, which has been a massive success. Now, we’ve gone further by incorporating a low coolant detection and alarm system, providing an additional layer of protection against potential engine damage.

Why Choose the JRP Edge 52mm Water Temp + Low Coolant Gauge?

There are many reasons to monitor a potential low coolant situation, whether you drive a petrol or diesel engine. For off-road enthusiasts, a damaged radiator can quickly cause anything from a slow leak to a catastrophic failure. Water temperature alone may not provide enough information, but this gauge offers a comprehensive solution. Likewise, for performance drivers, unexpected coolant loss from issues like a disconnected hose can lead to a rapid overheating scenario. By providing timely alerts, this gauge helps you avoid costly engine rebuilds.

Affordable Innovation for Every Vehicle

At JRP, we are committed to providing high-quality, functional, and affordable solutions for all drivers. The JRP Edge 52mm Water Temp + Low Coolant Gauge reflects this commitment. No driver wants to face costly engine repairs due to overheating or coolant loss. Our 2-in-1 gauge provides essential monitoring, offering peace of mind and confidence on every journey, whether you drive a classic 1980s model or a brand-new 2023 vehicle.

Colour Pre-Warn FeatureCOLOUR PRE-WARN

At JRP we are always trying to innovate, and with our deeper than most understanding of the intended use for a gauge and it’s practical function, we always ask ourselves in the development stages how can we make this better. It’s really the heart and soul of what we do here.

So when looking at our 52mm temperature based gauges, we asked ourselves once again how can we make these better for our customers, expand their practical functionality in ways that are actually useful. With the gauges using an incredible 10-colour LCD panel, our engineer put his thinking cap on and came up with a function we call Colour Pre-Warn or CPW for short. Typically gauges will come with one warning you can set and that is it, you would set the warning to go off at a level that is either right on the limit, or because you only have the one warning, you end up being conservative with it and set it lower because you would prefer being warned before it gets to out of control. This normally leads to having alarms going off all the time because you are cautious, or you end up getting sick of being cautious and set alarms a little too aggressively and end up letting a high temp situation get out of control and engine damage happens. We have all been there one way or another.

With the JRP Edge v1.5 temperature gauges, you now have a two stage warning system, one which works the same as other gauges where you set a final value for a warning that will trigger an alarm on the gauge, but now there is a softer secondary warning system you can choose to enable which will pre-alert you that the gauges are reaching higher levels than normal and alert you using the gauges bright colours.

So for example, you have chosen to run blue as your desired running colour for the gauge, set yourself a warning at 100c for water temp, if you enable the “colour pre-warn” function, once the gauge reaches 85c it will change from blue to yellow, and once it hits 90c it will change from yellow to orange, and once you hit 95c it will change from orange to red, and finally once you reach that 100c the gauge will sound an alarm.

CPW Function Example

The idea behind this is you get a visual non invasive indication that the temp gauge is moving out of normal operating parameters, this allows for a more aggressive final audible warning to be set, along with being visually alerted that your temps are starting to move into high territory’s without nasty loud alarms going off. You will be pre-warned by the gauge changing colour that things aren’t quite right and gives a larger margin for error in catching an event well before it happens.

Now just like everything we do here, we have put a decent amount of thought in how this little function was implemented and could be setup. You are able to customize the colours in the pre-warn function, you can select any 3 colours that you aren’t using as a running colour for the gauge for the warning system. You can also set how sensitive the colour pre-warn is in relation to your primary audible warning you set, we have really tried to make it so setup of this feature is simple, yet it can be customized to suit almost all applications.

We have a video demonstration of the feature in action on this page, just click the Videos tab at the top and you can check it out and see how it works. We feel this feature while sounding simple enough is actually going to become something that a lot of our customers will come to love, no more gauges alarms going off prematurely, no one likes premature alarms, less anxiety around looking at the gauges more than you need to making sure everything is ok and your ears aren’t about to get a pounding, we feel it will be one of those features that on paper you think that’s cool but almost a bit gimmicky, to using it and finding out that it’s been one of the best little innovations you have found in a gauge for years.

Engine Low Coolant Alarm Head Guard Logo JRPLow Coolant Sensor & Alarm

This JRP 3in1 52mm Gauge with Head Guard is equipped with an innovative engine low coolant sensor that continuously monitors your radiator system for any drop in coolant levels. If the coolant level falls below normal operating conditions, the gauge immediately triggers a low coolant alarm, providing you with an early warning. This feature is especially valuable for off-road enthusiasts who frequently encounter challenging conditions where rocks, debris, or other obstacles could damage the radiator and cause a rapid loss of coolant.

Why is Low Coolant Detection Important?

Coolant loss can lead to catastrophic engine damage if not detected quickly. Unlike many vehicles that lack factory-installed low coolant sensors, the JRP Head Guard feature ensures you're immediately aware of any issue. For example, if you're off-roading and your radiator is punctured by a rock, a slow or sudden loss of coolant could occur. Without an alert system, you might continue driving, unknowingly causing the engine to overheat and potentially warp the cylinder head—a repair that could cost thousands of dollars. With Head Guard, you’re promptly notified, allowing you to take immediate action and prevent severe damage.

Benefits of Head Guard Low Coolant Monitoring

  1. Early Detection of Coolant Loss: The Head Guard system provides a critical early warning when coolant levels drop, allowing you to stop and assess the situation before serious damage occurs. This is particularly useful in preventing overheating, which can lead to costly repairs or even engine failure.

  2. Enhanced Protection for Off-Roaders: For those who frequently navigate rugged terrain, the Head Guard system offers peace of mind. The low coolant sensor detects any potential leaks caused by impact damage, such as from rocks or branches, enabling you to avoid overheating and costly engine damage.

  3. Cost-Effective Engine Protection: A standalone low coolant detection system can cost nearly $200 or more. With the JRP Head Guard, this essential feature is built directly into your water temperature gauge, offering an affordable, integrated solution.

Innovative Design with Practical Benefits

At JRP, we are committed to enhancing the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles. Integrating a low coolant sensor and alarm into a water temperature gauge is just one of our many innovations. With this feature, you're not only getting reliable water temperature readings but also the added security of knowing that your coolant levels are constantly monitored.

Why Choose the JRP Head Guard System?

  • Prevent Costly Repairs: Catch a low coolant situation before it escalates into a major issue, saving you from potential engine rebuilds or replacements.

  • Drive with Confidence: Whether you're off-roading in a diesel 4x4 or racing a petrol vehicle on the track, the Head Guard system provides an extra layer of protection.

  • Affordable and Integrated: Enjoy the benefits of a low coolant detection system without the need for additional, costly equipment. The JRP Head Guard combines multiple functions into a single, compact gauge.

By choosing the JRP 3in1 52mm Gauge with Head Guard, you're investing in advanced protection for your engine, offering peace of mind no matter where your adventures take you.

High quality sensors suppliedHIGH QUALITY SENSORS

We have been in the gauge & wideband business now since 2016 and in that time we have been devoted to offering accurate and reliable gauge products for the performance car market, and also the diesel on-road and off-road customer base. We here at JRP know that customers when buying a gauge are looking not only for a product that looks nice, but they need to be able to rely on the sensors being accurate & reliable. Our mission has always been to supply amazing looking products, but with a strong focus on function and quality sensors without asking customers to pay a fortune. The Edge range of gauges is no different, you can rely on them being tough & accurate with peace of mind you won’t be having to replace sensors or the gauges due to poor quality, buy once buy right. Our temp sensors are a 2-wire sensor that ground by using the same ground that is used for the gauge itself, this can have some advantages over single wire temp sensors and improves the accuracy of the readings.

High spec lcd panelsAMAZING LCD DISPLAYS

The crown jewel of the Edge 52mm digital water temp gauge is their amazing VA type LCD panels that were developed just for these gauges. As soon as you see them light up you will know right away these are not your typical LCD gauge, they have an amazing clarity & brightness to them.

The LCD panels used in the JRP Edge range of gauges took over a year in development process, they are a high end VA type panel which allows for superior viewing angles and brightness, the first thing you will notice about the JRP Edge gauges is how they can be viewed quite clearly on both on & off angle viewing, one of the shortfalls of LCD is as you view them off angle their brightness and clarity reduce, the JRP Edge have some of the best off angle viewing of any LCD gauge on the market today.

They have a brightness of 600nit which is also terrific, daytime viewing on some LCD gauges can be a little poor due to lack of brightness, this is not the case with the Edge range of gauges, and they are clear and easy to read in almost any condition. Also having such a large number of selectable display colours means it will be much easier to match factory instrument clusters for those customers who want to maintain a consistent look in their cabin.

Info on the JRP Edge 52mm gauges modern designHigh End Build Quality

The Edge range of gauges have a robust design, the body of the gauges are a tough light weight alloy finished in a polished black look which gives them a nice contemporary look which will suit almost any application. These gauges also use a thick single piece scratch proof tempered glass panel in front of the LCD screen which slightly protrudes from the gauge itself for an awesome look that just screams quality. There is nothing worse than gauges that just look cheap, and the last thing the Edge range does is look cheap, they have a modern look which is also supported by quality housing and glass which just gives them that overall feel and look of quality.

Install requires only one single power link cableSINGLE POWER INSTALL

All of our Edge 52mm digital water temp gauges have the Power Link feature and cable included, this is a simple way to provide power to more than one gauge with just a single link cable running from the primary gauge to any additional gauges. This is to save having to run multiple power looms for each gauge you have installed and reduced the soldering / crimping of power looms down to just the primary gauge itself. For any additional gauges you want to install, it is just a case of running a power link cable from one gauge to the next. It is a pretty simple concept, but definitely makes installing 3 or 4 gauges a much quicker and neater process having the feature be on the gauges.

Gauges can be controlled with supplied external remote buttonREMOTE CONTROL

While the gauges themselves have a single button on the gauge body itself which is used for making changes to the gauges settings, such as colour selection, warning values, viewing or clearing peak values, each Edge 52mm water temp gauge comes with an external cabled button controller which can be installed somewhere tucked away in the cabin for making changes to the gauges settings after installation without having to remove the gauge from its housing to make the changes. Just simply connect our little button controller to the gauge and install somewhere easy to access, be it hidden away, or you can install it into your dash for the race look. Updating the gauges warning settings, changing colours, viewing or resetting peak values will no longer be a hassle at all.

Gauges can have warnings set, and peak value recordingWARNINGS & PEAK VALUES

All the Edge range of 52mm gauges have the feature to set warnings on the gauges, it’s an important part of any decent gauge solution for users to be able to configure their own warning values, and the Edge 52mm digital water temp gauges have this covered. The gauges have a built in buzzer that will alert your set temperature for a warning has been triggered, and a nice little warning symbol on the gauges screen, if your cars engine coolant starts to get hot, CPW will give you a prior indication you are heading in the wrong direction, and finally if temps go too far or so quickly you miss the CPW, the gauge is going to throw a hard audible warning. Another feature some customers may find useful is the gauges are able to record peak temperatures, this will enable you to check what is the highest oil temps seen by the gauge at any time without having to worry about looking at the gauge all the time.
